Nearly every food blog is talking about one thing lately – the green smoothie craze! Admittedly, they don’t always look the most appealing. Luckily, they can be full of beneficial fruits and vegetables, and their nutritional value make them a great meal replacement if they include the right ingredients.
One green smoothie recipe that really stood out from the others came from Lisa Thiele, the face behind the popular food blog With Style and Grace. Her Healthy “Limeade” Smoothie includes ingredients that are supposed to help balance out a person’s pH level. For instance, did you know that you are more susceptible to getting sick if your body is too acidic? Good to know!
Now you can get healthy and balance out your pH level with this smoothie recipe.
- 1/2 english cucumber, sliced
- 1/2 avocado
- 2 handfuls baby spinach
- 3-4 limes, peeled (adjust to desired amount)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- liquid stevia to taste
- 6-8 ice cubes
In blender, add cucumber, avocado, spinach, lime (all three, peeled), cinnamon, stevia and ice. Blend on high until smooth.
If it’s too thick, add about 1/2 cup of cold water.
Once it’s all blended, pour into a large glass and enjoy!
